All of our properties are situated on the south west border of Umbria and Tuscany, some are actually in Tuscany itself. The main-line railway station at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, together with the access road to the A1 Autostrada (the main north to south arterial motorway) are just a 10-15 minute drive away - should you wish to leave the car at home. The economic, efficient Italian rail service will take you to any of the following cities.
Approximately equal distance between Florence and Rome, one is ideally positioned to visit the major cities of Art: Rome, Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Assisi and Perugia. Also the smaller, yet equally interesting towns of Gubbio, Cortona, Pienza, Orvieto, Montepulciano and Montalcino. All lie in the heart of the 'Etruscan Civilisation' area.
Lake Trasimeno, with its beaches and islands is nearby. Lake Bolsena is a half-hour journey, also. Both are completely different from one another - one shallow and one very deep.
You will recognise, from some of the above names that we are in the heart of the Tuscan and Umbrian wine country with many cellars open for wine-tasting and visiting. Very interesting and pleasurable!
